  • How can I contact the claims department?
    In case you have questions about the coverage for expenses you have made or are about to make, you can contact our claims department. Also, when you are looking for a status update on a claim you have filed, you can contact us at [email protected] or by phone at +31(0)10 44 88 270 (after selecting your language, press 1 in the menu).
  • How do I obtain a guarantee of payment (GOP)?

    In case your healthcare provider is requesting a guarantee of payment (GOP), you can obtain the GOP by:

    - Contacting Aon Assistance (24/7 available) and request to arrange the GOP with the healthcare provider

    - Send a request for a GOP to [email protected] with the subject 'URGENT GOP' including the requested GOP from the healthcare provider plus the referral that states the medical necessity of the treatment that you received from your general practitioner or physician. We provide the GOP as soon as possible and usually within two business days. 

  • Is acupuncture covered?
    Yes, acupuncture is covered up to 12 treatments for a maximum of EUR 30,00 per treatment. You do not need a referral for this type of treatment and can seek reimbursement for the expenses afterwards.
  • How can I file a claim?

    You can file your claim online, via the Portal or the claim form.. You need to follow the steps and provide all the information requested to handle your claim. You will need to keep the original receipts for one year after submission of the claim as Aon may ask you to provide them in a later stage.

  • How long does it take to handle my claim?

    Aon processes your claim as soon as possible, but our timeframe is within 5 working days. During busy periods this can be delayed. You will be informed about the expected processing time in the confirmation which you receive after filing a claim.

  • Is physical therapy covered?

    Yes, physical therapy is covered up to EUR 500,00 per insured year. You do not need a referral for this type of treatment and can seek reimbursement for the expenses afterwards. In case more treatments are necessary, permission for the additional treatments must be requested up front based on a progress report from the your physical therapist. The progress report will be assessed by our medical advisor and you will be informed accordingly if additional treatment will be reimbursed as well.

  • How do I make a claim on my EHIC in the Netherlands?
    If you need to make a claim on your EHIC in the Netherlands, you can file your claim with Zilveren Kruis here . In the Netherlands Zilveren Kruis processes all claims on the EHIC of international students coming to the Netherlands.
